July 05

Dear parents
I am sure you will all join me in saying goodbye and thank you to Miss Tyrrell: from September she is going to be working in a school in London. She has been with us for four years and has been a great asset to the school. Mrs. Williams has left us to further her career in the Education Centre in Easthampstead Park. We wish them both good luck in their new ventures. They will all be missed by the children and the other members of staff. I would also like to say a big thank you to the other members of staff who will be leaving us at the end of term, thank you to Mrs. Boyle who has been in Year One and to Mrs. Todd in Nursery, Mrs Blake in Rising fives and Mrs. Fishenden, Mrs. Blair and Mrs. Harding the lunch time controllers.

Summer Sun
Summer has arrived!
In this weather please ensure that your children are dressed in school uniform which provides protection for their shoulders. If your child?s skin is particularly sensitive then they should continue to wear long sleeved shirts or blouses.
Children may wear sun hats or baseball caps which suitable for school. Children may not wear sunglasses without written assurance from you that the glasses have lenses with ultra violet filtration and are not children?s play sunglasses. We will monitor the weather forecasts and ensure that the children do not stay outside beyond the stated ?burn time?. We will do our best during the school week and would ask that you make sure that your children do not get burned after school and at the weekends! Don?t forget the Sun Cream every day.
It is very important in hot weather that the children drink plenty of fluid. Drinking water is available in all the wings but please provide your child with a bottle of water. We tell the children to drink as much as they can with their lunch. If you provide a packed lunch for your child then please include squash rather than concentrated juice for their drink. Water is also available. A freezer block in the box is also a good idea. (Please note - frozen drinks do not defrost by lunchtime!)
If we are careful then Summer can be an enjoyable time for all. Back to top
